Riphah University celebrating 6th convocation on Dec 3
Islamabad, Riphah International University, is going to hold its 6th convocation on December 03, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.
Renowned scientist Dr Samar Mubarikmand will be the chief guest. Nearly, 1,000 graduates and post-graduates of the university in various disciplines will be awarded degrees. They belong to Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Management Sciences, Engineering and Applied Sciences and Computer Sciences.
22 Zulfiqar Gold Medals and 18 Chancellor’s Gold Medals will be awarded to the graduates and post-graduates for obtaining top positions in the examinations and scoring distinction for their best performance in the academic field in various disciplines.
Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, in his message, said he is glad to learn that the Riphah International University is focusing on research, international collaboration and establishment of linkage with the industry. He said his government fully supports international collaboration and enhancement of quality education.
Chairman Higher Education Commission Dr Javaid R. Laghari, in his message, said HEC is committed to maintaining quality and professionalism in higher education programmes in the country. Chancellor Major General (r) Muhammad Zulfiqar Ali Khan, in a message, congratulated the management and faculty members of the university for holding convocation regularly.
Riphah International University is chartered by the federal government. The president of Pakistan is the patron of the university while Major General (r) Muhammad Zulfiqar Ali Khan is the Chancellor. Renowned educationist and scholar Professor Dr Anis Ahmad is the Vice Chancellor. The University is running programmes for MBBS, BDS, BS (Electrical Engineering), BSc Bio-Medical Engineering, MS Electrical Engineering, BS (SE), BS (IT), BS (CS), MS Computing, Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Physical Therapy, MBA, BBA, MSc/MS in Mathematics and Post-graduate and undergraduate degrees in Media Sciences.
Special emphasis is given on Islamic ethical values for imparting standard professional education. Regulatory bodies within the country and abroad recognize its degrees. Higher Education Commission (HEC) has placed Riphah International University in W category as one of the best private sector universities in Pakistan.
