Punjab University Starts Online Exams Session For BA/BSC Study Programs

Punjab University organized Pakistan’s first proctor-based online exams session for BA/BSc degree programs and Associate degree programs. The online exam session is going to be started on Wednesday. The Vice-Chancellor of Punjab University, Niaz Ahmad, and other officials visited the control room that has set to monitor the online examination session. Professor Niaz Ahmed while talking to the media said that Punjab University is going to make history by introducing Pakistan’s first proctor-based online examination session.

The examination session would be conducted on a massive level in Pakistan. He added his words that it is listed under one of the success stories of the country to launch such a proctor-based online examination system. Professor said that Punjab University has taken the Covid-19 as a challenging situation and make the right use of technology in order to conduct the examination in a smooth way.

How The Online Examination System Would Work?

In order to monitor the candidates who will appear for online exams a three state of the art control room has setup, said by the Vice-Chancellor. He offered appreciation for the team who played their roles best in organizing such an examination system. A pro-students policy has been adopted by PU and many other relaxations have been issued in the rules and regulations to facilitate the students.

Where PU is launching the biggest online system, at the same time, it is facing some kinds of complaints from students’ side out of which the major one is the poor internet connections. However, it is announced that the online examination session is not mandatory. Students who are willing to appear for exams are welcome to appear for this online exam session. The rest of the students will appear for traditional exams in the examination hall as the pandemic influence will be debilitated.

Examinations Fee and Chances To Appear

Moreover, students who would fail in the online exams will be allowed to sit in the traditional exams without paying any extra PU bachelor's examination fee and their chances to appear for the exam will also remain intact. Similarly, the fees and chances of exams would remain intact for the students who are not going to appear for online exams. Candidates would also provide the opportunity to choose the one, marks secured online or the marks through traditional exams.
