The Pakistan Medical Commission, PMC has announced the detailed admission criteria to the students who are going to apply to private medical and dental colleges in Pakistan. Through this announcement, PMC declares the detailed criteria for MDCAT exemption, basic eligibility criteria, merit generation criteria, and the required documents, etc. So, all the applicants must meet the given criteria to secure their applications in their selected private medical and dental colleges:   

Basic Eligibility Criteria 

Applicants are required to meet the below-given basic criteria: 

Applicants are required to obtain a minimum of 65% or above marks in the intermediate, FSS, or A-levels with an IBCC equivalency certificate.

Applicants are mandatory to obtain 60% or above marks in MDCAT.     

Merit Generation Criteria 

Applicants are required to meet the below-given merit generation criteria: 

30% marks will be counted of the intermediate, FSS, or A-levels with IBCC equivalency certificate.

50% marks will be included from MDCAT. 

20% of marks will be comprised of the interview that will be taken by the private medical and dental colleges.  

Required Documents For Admission 

Applicants are required to submit their applications along with the following supporting documents:  

Photograph 

Identity documents i.e. CNIC/Passport

Educational certificate HSSC/FSC/A-Level equivalency document 

Sat-II certificate, in the case of applying through SAT II 

Eligibility Criteria For Foreign National 

Applicants who have completed their intermediate or 12 years of education from outside Pakistan and are eager to apply for admissions to Pakistan’s medical and dental colleges, can only be considered based on the SAT-II test. However, in order to be eligible to apply for admissions to the private medical and dental colleges, applicants are required to pass the SAT-II test with the following subjects’ percentage: 

Biology:         40%

Chemistry:         35%

Physics/Maths: 25%

NOTE: SAT-I test has not been conducted universally due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So, it is decided that English is an exemption subject for the students who have done their intermediate or 12 years of education from the institutes with the English language medium of teaching.
