The national command and operation center has decided to reopen the primary schools and universities from 1st February 2021. The meeting was held on 27th January 2021 to review the situation of the coronavirus and to formulate the reopening plan for the closed educational institutes. It has been decided that some of the major cities of Pakistan including Lahore, Peshawar, Hyderabad, and Karachi the students would be allowed to attend the classes on alternate days with 50% strength. The meeting was attended by the education ministers and health officials and the session was chaired by the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar along with the coordinator of NCOC.

The federal minister for education and professional training, Shafqat Mahmood also attended the meeting whereas many other ministers joined the meeting through the video link. Due to the increased cases of coronavirus, it has been directed to reopen the educational institutes with the strict implementation of standard operating procedures. In the areas with high coronavirus positivity ratios, the students will come to schools three days a week. The universities across the country would resume the academic activities according to their schedule and the students have been directed to follow the preventative measures.
Reopening Of Educational Institutes
After the reopening of the institutes in September, there was the rapid transmission of coronavirus due to which the government had closed the educational institutes of Pakistan from 26th November 2021. Earlier it was announced to reopen the schools and colleges for the students of grades 9 to 12 as they have to appear in the annual board exams that will be conducted in May/June. The Punjab and Sindh education minister have stated that this year the students will not be promoted without exams. Moreover, many vaccination centers have been established in the country to train the staff to protect against the deadly virus.
