Islamabad: The Minister of State for Federal Education Engineer Blighur Rehman on Thursday said that the government is committed to introduce the syllabus based on the advanced educational standards.

According to the press release, he gave this statement while presiding over a meeting of Curriculum Review Committee to check the finalized syllabuses for Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) up to 5th grade.

In the meeting, the state minister for Federal Education was briefed by the Joint Education Adviser Rafiq Tahir on the new courses of eight subjects that were part of the review exercise involving, pre-primary education, general science, general knowledge, social studies, mathematics, islamiat, Urdu as well as English.

The syllabus improvement including the material on values and ethics along with the full focus on integrity and honesty, civic sense, local and global residency, health and hygiene, environmental protection democratic culture, national harmony, acceptance as well as admiration for diversity, was also revised during the meeting.

The minister was told that the revised syllabus of all the subjects appropriately incorporates the material on ethics and values in their contents.

Blighur Rehman said focus of the new syllabuses on conceptual learning along with the well-defined Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), ethical training, character building, obligation of diversity, democratic and civil understanding will not just improve scholarship however it also promote responsible residency.
