Islamabad: The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) on Wednesday rejected proposal of government for including the teachings of Quran in schools syllabus.
The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training on Monday had sent a set of books which cover the Quranic verses along with the translation to the CII for checking. The ministry had suggested to teach these books in schools up to 10th grade.

The members found a lot of omissions in the books and said they cannot be included in the schools syllabus.
The members furthermore raised the objections over the draft child protection bill on the second day of the 3-day CII meeting.
