Karachi University has announced the open merit policy for the admissions of the next academic session. Previously the university had conducted the entry tests for the bachelors and master’s degree programs in which a large number of candidates appeared. According to the result announce almost 75% of students failed the entry tests due to which the varsity has changed the admission criteria for the candidates. Now the university has declared that there will be no entry tests for the departments whose tests were not commenced earlier. The interested students can take admission in the departments of commerce, mass communication, criminology, and Pak studies. 

Passing Criteria

As per the sources, the university officials have changed the passing marks for the admission test of the various departments to 25 from 50. Moreover, there are many other departments such as education, petroleum technology, special education, applied chemistry, environmental studies, applied physics, and chemical technology whose passing marks has been reduced to 40-45 from 50. Besides this, the varsity has decreased the closing percentage for the bachelor's admissions based on the intermediate exams. 

KU Announces Schedule For Donor Seats

The university is also inviting applications for the donor seats. As per the instructions provided by the KU Directorate of Admissions Dr. Saima Akhtar, the students can submit the application forms by 7th January 2021. The candidates have also to pay the fee challan of Rs. 3500/- at any UBL Branch before the due date. It is informed to the candidates to enter the correct details in the application forms. The candidates are required to attach scanned copies of academic certificates, CNIC, domicile, and passport size photographs. The schedule for the B.Com examination had been announced previously for the candidates in which they can apply till 31st December 2020.
