BISE Hyderabad holds a significant legacy as one of the oldest boards, inaugurated under the West Pakistan Ordinance 1961. Since its launch, the Board has functioned under various ordinances and acts aimed at ensuring its efficient operation. Before its establishment, the responsibility for conducting matriculation examinations was held by the University of Sindh under the Sindh University Act 1947. Initially board was situated in the 'Metharam Hostel' near the General Post Office in Hyderabad. The University of Sindh transferred the responsibility of conducting secondary and intermediate education examinations to the Board in 1961, led by Dr. G.A. Jafferi. Presently at Unit 9 Latifabad, Hyderabad, the Board operates from a building encompassing three floors and additional amenities like a library and auditorium, facilitating its operational functions.
