HEC Warned Against Admissions in Ph.D. and MS / MPhil / Equivalent Programs

It is an important announcement from the Higher Education Commission regarding Ph.D. and M.Phil. Degrees. Ph.D. and MS/MPhil/Equivalent programs are banned in colleges. Private and public universities can’t offer MPhil and Ph.D. admissions.

HEC has issued a high alert that affiliated institutes/colleges are not allowed to offer a high degree program. If the universities still offer MS/MPhil and Ph.D. degrees then HEC will not certify the degrees of Ph.D. and M. Phil from affiliated institutions. Some legal actions can proceed against affiliated colleges and institutes by HEC if they don’t stop their admissions of MS/MPhil and Ph.D. degrees.

It is strictly advised to the affiliated colleges and institutes not to take admission in any program which is not recognized and allowed by the Higher Education Commission. The affiliated colleges/institutes are not allowed to advertise admissions in MS/MPhil/equivalent and Ph.D. programs.
