The Higher Education Commission has issued the list of unrecognized educational institutes in Pakistan. According to the issued list, there are over 140 fake, illegal, unlawful, and unrecognized educational institutions in the country. The HEC recognizes the degrees of public and private sector universities and higher educational institutes in Pakistan along with their approved campuses. The candidates are informed that the status of the college affiliated with the public sector universities can only be confirmed from the respective institute. The private sector universities are not allowed to grant the affiliation and can only operate through their accredited main campus.
Unrecognized Educational Institutes
The colleges established without the approval of the HEC are also included in the list of unrecognized educational institutes. The universities that iare not included in the list of the HEC recognized educational institutes and are operating unlawfully will be treated as fake and illegal. As per the list provided by the commission 96 unrecognized educational institutions are located in Punjab, 35 in Sindh, 11 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3 in Azad Jammu, and Kashmir, and 2 in Federal Capital.
Instructions For Students
The commission has instructed the students to not take admission in the unrecognized educational institutes in Pakistan as their admissions will be termed illegal. Moreover, the degree awarded after the completion of the academic sessions will also not be recognized by the Higher Education Commission due to which the candidates will remain unable to apply for the higher qualification or any job position. The HEC has also asked the concerned authorities of unrecognized educational institutes to not waste the precious time of the students by offering them admissions in the various degree programs. So the candidates are advised to verify the recognition data of the university/institute from the web portal of HEC before getting admission.
