HEC extends date for filing research grant application

Islamabad: Higher education commission of Pakistan has extended the date till February 15^th, 2017 for filing applications for Thematic Research Grant Programme 2016-17.

At first, the commission set January 25^th as the last date for the submission of application forms.

The social sciences scholars as well as researchers having theoretical, conceptual and also methodological or policy orientation background are eligible to apply for this grant.

“As some teachers were facing problems while uploading their application forms that are why we have decided to extend the deadline so that maximum number of teachers could benefit from the grant,” said HEC chairperson.

There were some complaints from teachers that they were facing problems while filling the application forms because several universities have not updated their data.

Besides, the application form does not accept BA and BSc as 14-year bachelor’s programme in the programme title, which is necessary for downloading the application form.

It is second time that the HEC has extended the deadline for this grant.
