Girls consistently making Pakistan proud

The Agha khan University Education Board declared the results for its higher and secondary school certification for the May 2016 examination session on Wednesday.

The female students outclassed and took the first three top positions. Along with this they overall also scored higher as compared to boys.

This year, AKU-EB tested students in 95 subjects in 23 cities across Pakistan.  

On an average the passing rate for SSC part I has been 86.6% out of which 45.1% of students scored grade A and above.

Whereas the average passing rate for SSC part II has been 84.5% out of which 47.5% of students obtained grade A and above.

Hira Naz from Agha Khan Higher Secondary School, Kuragh and Alina Fatima from Al-Murtaza School grabbed the first position by scoring 93.36% marks in SSC. While Alina also obtained the second position in the elective subjects of Science along with Ali Mehdi from IBA Community  College, Khairpur.

The Principal of Agha Khan Higher Secondary School, Kuragh said that performance of my brilliant student, Hira, has increased my self-confidence, and self-assurance of my team, parents and students. She further added that she whole-heartedly appreciate the coordination and sustenance of AKU-EB in every single way. The training given by AKU-EB is remarkable and it prepares the teachers for higher level of learning and teaching.  

According to Aien Shah, Head of Academics, Agha Khan Education Service, said that by formation of HSS (Higher Secondary School) and establishment of AKU-EB; it has set new landmark in Agha Khan Education Service Pakistan’s journey. She further added that the education provided by them is satisfactory.

On this occasion, Dr Naveed Yusuf, Associate Director Assessments said that assessment helps in learning. The basic goal of education is to create individuals with knowledge and skills and to prepare them for their bright future. He further added that the main purpose of education is to make individual who could be effective for the society. According to him the assessment ritual will re-frame the situation and helps in contributing in making of global citizens of Pakistan.
