FPSC Announces To Conduct CSS MCQ Based Preliminary Test

The Federal Public Service Commission has announced to conduct the CSS MCQs-based preliminary test (MPT). The cabinet has given the approval to conduct the screening test before the commencement of CSS 2022. The candidates are informed that as per the eligibility criteria defined by the commission, the candidates with at least second division in the bachelor’s degree can appear in the CSS exam and the age limit for the candidates is 21-30 years. The CSS MPT test will be effective from the CSS exam 2022 and the candidates have to qualify for the test to take the exam. According to the FPSC announcement, the candidates the appearance in the CSS MCQ-based preliminary test (MPT) will not be counted as a chance. It is notified that the CSS online registration 2022 will be started soon so the candidates can submit the application form. 

Syllabus For Test

The test will be conducted to determine the eligibility criteria moreover there will be no change in the paper pattern and syllabus for CSS exam 2022. The FPSC CSS MPT test essentially consists of compulsory subjects of CSS examination, including Islamic studies (20 marks), English vocabulary, grammar, usage, and comprehension (50 marks); logical problem solving, analytical abilities and mental abilities (60 marks), general abilities: basic arithmetic, algebra & geometry (SSC level), Urdu grammar usage and translation (20 marks); and general knowledge: everyday science, current affairs, and Pakistan affairs (50 marks).

CSS 2022 Schedule 

Following is the schedule announced by FPSC for CSS exam 2022

CSS Screening Test

The MPT test will consist of 200 multiple choice questions and the candidates have to secure at least 33% marks to pass the test. The time duration of the test will be 200 minutes. There will be no negative marking and each question in the test will carry one mask. Without obtaining the passing marks the candidates will not be able to appear in the CSS written exam. After the commencement of the test the answer key will be uploaded on the same day for the candidates. The candidates will also be allowed to take the carbon copy of the answer sheet. The test fee for MPT is Rs.500/- and the score of the test will be valid for one year only. The test fee is non-refundable in any case. The FPSC has provided the syllabus for the candidates that they have to follow while appearing for the exam.
