The federal government has introduced the Prime Minister’s Laptop Loan Scheme 2025, a new initiative designed to help young Pakistanis purchase laptops through interest-free installments. The program specifically targets students, freelancers, and professionals who need digital tools to pursue education and employment opportunities.
Under the scheme, applicants can apply for three categories of loans:
Basic: PKR 150,000
Medium: PKR 300,000
Advanced: PKR 450,000
All categories come with the option of repayment in small monthly installments spread over several years.
Eligibility is open to Pakistani citizens aged 18 to 35. The government has highlighted three main groups for this program:
University and college students
Freelancers working online
Early-career professionals
Priority will go to individuals from low-income families, while government employees are not eligible to apply.
To apply, candidates must upload:
CNIC (front and back)
A recent passport-size photo
Proof of income (salary slip or guardian’s statement)
Academic certificates or university admission documents
Freelancers can share links to their verified work profiles (e.g., Fiverr, Upwork)
Applications will only be accepted online through the official PM Youth Program portal, making the process accessible to people across the country.
Officials believe this initiative will not only expand access to laptops but also strengthen Pakistan’s growing freelancing and IT sectors by equipping youth with essential digital resources.
