COMSATS convocation: 25 PhDs among 729 graduates

COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) Islamabad granted 729 degrees in its 82nd convocation held on Tuesday (yesterday).

The degrees were granted to 489 BS, 215 MS as well as the 25 PhD graduates in the disciplines of bioinformatics, biosciences, business administration, computer engineering, telecommunication engineering, electronics, and mathematics and also in field of architecture.

Of 25 PhD degrees, 10 degrees were granted in mathematics discipline, six degrees were granted in physics, five in biosciences, plus one each in computer science, electrical engineering, management sciences as well as meteorology.

The President Mamnoon Hussain, who was the chief guest at that convocation, congratulated the aspirants and also urged them to play their vital role in the development of the country.

The Principal of Comsats Institute of Information Technology Dr SM Junaid Zaidi said that the educational institutes were changing the society and assisting the nation to face the international challenges. He said that human resource development was vita for the country to progress. Zaidi directed the graduating aspirants to follow the principles of honesty, sincerity and also of the truthfulness.
