Multan: The steering committee of the Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology (MNSUET) has rejected the offer for the joining of engineering and agriculture colleges of the Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) along with the MNSUET and Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture (MNSUA), respectively.

An official meeting organized in Lahore on Thursday headed by the Planning and Development Board Chairman Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan, rejected this offer after the vice chancellor of Bahaduddin Zakariya University Dr Tahir Amin opposed the move.

The secretaries of Higher Education Department, Communication and Works Department (C&W) and Agriculture Department along with the Multan commissioner as well as the vice chancellors of University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore (UET), BZU, Islamia University, Bahawalpur and the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad were also present in the meeting.

“I strongly argued on behalf of the varsity against the joining, informing the meeting that the separation of the both colleges form Bahauddin Zakariya University will impact negatively on the institute (BZU),” Dr Amin media sources.
