Rs. 144 Billion Allocated to Strengthen Education Sector Across the Province

The Government of Balochistan has significantly increased its investment in education by allocating Rs. 144 billion for the Education Department in the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2026-27. The allocation reflects a 15 percent increase compared to the previous year's education budget, highlighting the government's commitment to improving educational facilities and opportunities across the province.

According to official budget documents, Rs. 115 billion out of the total education allocation has been reserved for the school education sector. The funding is expected to support infrastructure development, teacher recruitment, and various initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of education in Balochistan.

A major component of the budget includes Rs. 8 billion earmarked for the upgradation of educational institutions. Under this development initiative, primary schools will be upgraded to middle schools, while middle schools will be elevated to high school status. The move is expected to improve access to higher levels of education, particularly in underserved and remote areas of the province.

In another important step, the provincial government has announced the creation of 3,000 new jobs within the Education Department. These new positions are intended to address staffing shortages and strengthen the overall education system by ensuring better teacher availability and administrative support.

The government has also increased the cluster budget from Rs. 2.5 billion to Rs. 2.9 billion. This additional funding will help educational institutions meet operational requirements and improve learning environments for students.
