Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced that it has decided to provide free of cost and quality education to the specific zones of society. These sections involve prisoners, visually impaired people, dropped-out girls as well as the transgender community.

This decision was taken by the officials of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) for the only purpose of providing these people along with a platform to pursue their education easily and remove the difficulties from their paths towards success.

The vice chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University, Professor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui, expects that the aspirants belonging to these groups will make use of this golden chance and will register themselves from the upcoming academic year.

Last date to apply for the admissions is October 10th, 2017 along with late-fee.

Furthermore, the varsity also offers scholarships and grants fee concessions to the aspirants facing financial issues.

The university has also launched a program along with an objective to provide free education to the transgender community across the country.

Dr. Shahid expected that these facilities will enhance the living standards of transgender community. He added:

This educational has particularly been designed to enhance the confidence of transgender and assist them live along with dignity as responsible inhabitants of society.

We have received an encouraging response from the community and we have already started receiving applications for this educational programme.
