76 percent applicants have passed the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council National Examination Board (NEB) Step III OSCE and Viva Voce.

According to the given details by M=PMDC, total 681 candidates, who did graduation in medicine as well as in surgery from abroad, sat the exam and 522 of them turned out to be successful.

This exam takes place at the Allama Iqbal Medical College and Fatima Jinnah Medical University Lahore from 11th February 2016 to 13th February 2016 under the command of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad.

Generally the passing percentage of Part I exam was 70%, while Part II of exam was 77% whereas Part III exam was 86%.

The president of PMDC Professor Shabbir Lehri, said those along with the MBBS degree in languages except English had to clear the NEB exam as it would assist them in understanding the medical terminologies in English.

He moreover said that there were also complaints regarding the quality of education in foreign universities.

He added that “Sitting in the NEB test is necessary for the doctors along with the foreign qualifications who wish to do practice in the country.”

The president of PMDC said that he will not tolerate corruption in the test as there had been a bad impression about the test in the eyes of people.

He said the new council had assured to enhance the system of the examination and over first priority to eliminate the corruption.
