Lahore: Almost 17,000 youngsters of Layyah district will get skill training under the supervision of a project launched on Wednesday at an event arranged by the youth development organization BARGAD along with the support from Oxfam in Pakistan.

The 5 year project is targeted to economically empower these young people by delivering the workable livelihoods to the people in Layyah district.
The director of Oxfam Country Mohamad Qazalbash said:
“The project is intended to economically empower the young people greeting from disaster prone communities and provide them along with the opportunities to get a sustainable livelihood.”
Under the project, the implementing partner of Oxfam, BARGAD, in district Layyah, will provide entrepreneurship and skill-based training.

Qazilbash said approximately four million youngsters enter the workforce annually in Pakistan and an estimated 60 percent of them are employed in low paid and changeable jobs.
