Pakistan is celebrating Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH), the blessed birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), with immense devotion, lights, and prayers. On this sacred day of 12th Rabi-ul-Awal 1447 AH, the entire nation is immersed in expressing love for the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and pledging to follow his Sunnah in everyday life.
The dawn of this holy day was marked with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad, while 21-gun salutes were observed in provincial capitals, symbolizing the nation’s reverence for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Throughout Pakistan, mosques echoed with special prayers for peace, prosperity, and progress of the country.
As part of the Eid Milad un Nabi celebrations, conferences, seminars, and Mahafil-e-Milad are being held across Pakistan. These gatherings honor the Prophet’s (PBUH) legacy of mercy, justice, and compassion.
Since the sighting of the moon, streets, homes, mosques, and public spaces have been adorned with colourful lights and green flags. Markets and neighborhoods are illuminated, and decorative banners inscribed with praises of the Prophet (PBUH) add to the festive spirit. Families and communities are distributing sweets, food, and gifts, especially in orphanages and among underprivileged citizens, to spread joy and solidarity.
Religious organizations and Milad Committees have arranged processions and rallies in major cities, highlighting the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH). These processions not only reflect love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) but also remind Muslims to practice his teachings of peace and unity.
On this auspicious occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called upon the people of Pakistan to rebuild the nation according to the golden principles of the Prophet’s (PBUH) life.
He emphasized that the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) nearly 1,500 years ago transformed the world, turning darkness into light and laying down the foundations of justice, mercy, and equality.
Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that this year marks the 1500th birth anniversary, being observed globally as the Year of Rahmatul-lil-Alameen (Mercy for All Worlds). He further noted that both the National Assembly and Senate have passed resolutions to integrate the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings into Pakistan’s constitution, laws, and public life.
Quoting the Quran, he said: “Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example for anyone who has hope in Allah and the Last Day.” The Prime Minister reminded the youth that the Prophet’s (PBUH) Seerat provides a comprehensive model for governance, economics, trade, justice, and social harmony in today’s modern world.
Concluding his message, Shehbaz Sharif prayed for unity and safety:
“May Allah keep Pakistan safe, grant us unity, and bless us with the ability to live in love and obedience to the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Pakistan Zindabad.”
President Asif Ali Zardari also congratulated Pakistanis and the Muslim Ummah on this holy occasion. He described Eid Milad un Nabi as both a celebration and a reminder of the Prophet’s universal message of peace and brotherhood.
The President stressed that the 1500th birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) strengthens the collective resolve of Muslims worldwide to live by the principles of justice, compassion, and equality.
He pointed out that the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings are not confined to history but continue to offer solutions for modern challenges, including extremism, injustice, and global unrest. He urged Pakistanis to build a society based on equality, peace, and respect for humanity.
In his prayer, President Zardari asked Allah to grant every believer the strength to follow the noble life and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The celebration of Eid Milad un Nabi (12 Rabi-ul-Awal) has always been a unifying event in Pakistan’s cultural and religious calendar. This day carries immense spiritual importance for Muslims who view it as a time to renew their love and allegiance to the Prophet (PBUH).
From decorated streets to mosques filled with naats and recitations of Durood Shareef, the day serves as a reminder of the Prophet’s everlasting message. Communities emphasize charity, hospitality, and harmony—values deeply rooted in Islamic teachings.
Moreover, with this year marking the completion of 1500 years since the blessed birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the celebrations are especially grand. Milad gatherings are focusing on educating the youth about the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) to inspire them to become responsible and compassionate members of society.
Pakistan’s Eid Milad un Nabi celebrations in 2025 reflect not just festivity but also deep devotion and commitment to the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings. The lights, prayers, gatherings, and processions symbolize unity and faith, while the leadership’s messages highlight the importance of embedding the Sunnah in every aspect of life.
As mosques and streets shine bright with lights and chants of praise echo across the nation, the day reinforces the timeless truth: Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) came as a Rahmatul-lil-Alameen (Mercy for all mankind), guiding humanity with a message of love, equality, and peace.
