Women Institute of Medical Technology Abbottabad

The field of Medical Technology is of vital importance as it is the backbone of all the Medical Sciences. It is a professional education without which a proper laboratory diagnosis is beyond the scope of imagination. Together with the efforts of clinicians, doctors and allied therapists it saves time and maintains accuracy for the protection of the ailing persons and minimizes the hazards of time-consumption for fast and proper treatment of untreated patients in view of its lab diagnosis.

There is a dire need for Medical Technology in Pakistan in view of its increasing population particularly in this backward area of Hazara.

Therae are hardly a few colleges for this technology in Pakistan and none in Hazara Division in either Govt. or Private sectors.

Besides all this, female students remained deprived of perusing these studies to the level of B.Sc. on account of no local access to this technology. It is with this idea that the department of Medical Laboratory Technology was established to fulfill all these deficiencies. Being located near the premises of the Women Medical College with its highly qualified and experienced faculty members in the field of Pathology, Hematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology including Parasitology, Histopathology, Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Instrumentation etc, it is a symbol of par-excellence.

The Women Institute of Medical Technology (WIMT) was established in the year 2004 in order to meet the incessant demand of competent well-trained female Medical laboratory technologists.

The institute is housed near the main campus of Women Medical College, Abbottabad. Its building is equipped with Practical laboratories, Museum and Class rooms in addition to administrative offices.

The facilities of central library, cafeteria and auditorium are also open for the students in the main campus; the girl’s hostel has all the requisite facilities for its boarder students.
