Empowering the Future of Technology: The Journey of the University of Rasul

The University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin (UORM)—historically rooted as a premier technical institute since its early beginnings in 1873—stands as a premier public-sector institution dedicated to bridging academic learning with real-world technical expertise. Nestled along the Sarai Alamgir Road in Punjab, Pakistan, this historic university has undergone a remarkable transformation over the decades. What began as a prestigious school of surveying in Lahore eventually transitioned to its current sprawling campus in Rasul in 1912. Known for decades as the Government College of Technology (GCT) Rasul, the institution was formally upgraded by the Government of Punjab to a full-fledged university of technology in 2018. This upgrade was a monumental step forward, allowing the university to offer high-quality, higher-education degree programs designed to equip the youth of Pakistan with the skills necessary to excel in a highly competitive global marketplace.

Today, the University of Rasul offers an extensive array of undergraduate programs tailored to modern industrial demands. Under the supervision of a highly qualified faculty, students can pursue Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering Technologies, as well as Software Engineering, Computer Science, and Artificial Intelligence. Beyond engineering and computing, the university has expanded its academic horizon to include diverse disciplines such as Business Administration, Law, English Literature, Psychology, and Environmental Sciences. The institution also retains its heritage of hands-on technical training through associate engineering diplomas (DAE) at its constituent college. Equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, a well-stocked library, and reliable student support services, UORM fosters an environment where innovation, critical thinking, and social responsibility are at the core of the educational experience. It continues to act as a vital educational hub, empowering the local youth and contributing significantly to the technological development of Punjab and the rest of Pakistan.
