University of Gujrat (UOG) was established in 2003 and inaugurated by then Chief Minister of Punjab Province Chaudhary Pervez Elahi on the vacant land adjoining the shrine of saint Hafiz Muhammad Hayat a saint. The university was established to promote higher education in Pakistan. The university has well-equipped laboratories, video conferencing facility, horticultural designed lawns, separate hostels for boys and girls, play grounds, swimming pool and modern residences for teaching and other staff members.

Academic Programs

The degree programs that the university offers are extensive, and the university has a large Undergraduate program in areas of Biochemistry, Commerce, English and Information Technology, Zoology, among others. Apart from Bachelors degree programs, the UOG also offers Master degree and MPhil degree programs in different fields to meet the post graduate needs of the students.

Campus Life and Facilities

The Sialkot campus has also provided a good student life with facilities including Sialkot Campus Libraries, Athletic Club, Hostel for Out Station Students etc. Extra curriculum activities are also an important center of focus and the university boasts of a rich student societies, sports and recreational amenities that make it possible for the university to offer balanced student life.
