Nazeer Hussain University NHU Karachi

Nazeer Hussain University (NHU) is a higher education institute which is chartered by the Government of Sindh. The university is recognized by the (HEC) Higher Education Commission. The university is established to provide professional education to the students to make them able to stand on their own. The students after completing their education are able to compete in the local and international job markets.

History

Nazeer hussain University was established in 2012. The institution started off as a private research university. The university was dedicated in making higher education affordable for middle and working class of the Pakistan. Registered charity of the UK named as “The Society for the Unwell and Needy (SUN), offered grants for the development of the university. In 1999 the provision bill was generated to establish the institution and then on 17th June 1999, the Provisional assembly successfully passed the bill.

Aim

The university sets following educational aims

• To hire talented and self-motivated academic staff members who have the ability to offer modern teaching methodologies, develop passion of education in the students, develop social responsibility, and respect cultural and other diversities amongst students.
• To give admission to productive and hard working students from all cultural backgrounds who want to develop their full potential and pursuing the knowledge for its own sake.
• To promote the welfare of Pakistani and international people through knowledge and skills.
• To participate in research, technical, scientific, traditional and social activities.
• To emphasize on sustainability, projects and association with industries and both local and international communities.
• To emphasize on empowering women through education.

• Besides normal computer-labs, there are other labs like Engineering & Electronic laboratories in the university equipped with latest equipments for performing practical tasks & soling the practical problems.
