Programs Offered

The institute runs professional degree programs which are in the rehabilitation sciences and allied health. These are the five-year Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), which prepares the students in musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. It also provides a four year B.Sc. in Occupational Therapy (OT), the program focuses on assisting people to become independent in their daily tasks. One more outstanding program is B.Sc. in Speech and Language Pathology (SLP), which deals with the identification and remediation of communication and speech disorders. All programs are including theoretical education with the practical clinical training to prepare the students to serve in the hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and health organizations within the communities.

Facilities & Activities

Modern facilities are available in PSRD Institute that facilitates a holistic learning experience. It has a 110-bed teaching hospital, with special units of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and an orthotics and prosthetics workshop. The facilities warrant that the students get training which is practical, real life training in a clinical environment. Other than academics, the institute encourages students to take part in community-based rehabilitation projects, vocational training workshops, and health awareness activities. These efforts not only help in improving student learning, but it also helps in the social mission of rehabilitating and empowering persons with disabilities in Pakistan and particularly in low-income and marginalized communities.
