Pakistan Navy Engineering College was established in Officers Training Section (OTS) which was established in 1962 as part of PNS KARSAZ and afterwards OST upgraded into college in 1966 and got the name of PN Engineering College (PNEC). Initially PNEC got affiliation with Karachi University then in 1977 its affiliation was moved to NED University of Engineering & Technology then in 1995 it became the part of National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Rawalpindi. Currently PEEC is offering various programs of BE, MS and PhD approved by HEC, PEC and NUST. The college offers degree programs in the disciplines of Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering and MS/PhD programs in the fields of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
At the same time the college offers specific mid-career programs or courses for Pakistan Navy Technical Officers after getting competency certificate from onboard PN Ships. These courses are comprised of Marine Engineering Systems management Course (MESMC) and Weapons Engineering System Management Course (WESMC) which are planned to meet the service supplies of the officers in their career. PEC and HEC also review the academic and examination standards for the approval of degree courses of PNEC.
