Choosing a university is as much a financial decision as an academic one. This page explains the NUTECH fee structure for 2026-27, so you can plan your budget before applying to National University of Technology Islamabad. It covers one-time charges, NUTECH semester fee details, hostel information, scholarships and refunds.
NUTECH is a public-sector, industry-focused university in Sector I-12, Islamabad. It is recognised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Its programmes are designed to give students practical skills alongside strong academic grounding.
The NUTECH Islamabad fee has three main parts:
Application processing fee, paid at registration.
Admission fee, paid once when you are admitted.
Semester fee, paid every semester for tuition.
Knowing these three components helps you estimate your total cost for the whole degree.

International applicants pay in US dollars. The listed amounts are USD 120 for the application fee and USD 1,100 for the admission fee. Semester fees are USD 3,000 for BET (Civil) and USD 3,250 for other undergraduate programmes.
The NUTECH admission fee is charged once, at the start of your degree. It is not charged again in later semesters. Keep your payment receipt safe, as you will need it for enrolment records.
The NUTECH semester fee is paid at the beginning of each term. An undergraduate degree normally has eight semesters, so multiply the semester fee by eight and add the one-time charges for a rough total. For example, the BET (Civil) programme costs less per semester than the other undergraduate programmes, which makes a real difference over four years.
Students applying for MS programmes pay lower one-time charges. The most recent postgraduate schedule lists a 2,000 PKR application fee, a 10,000 PKR admission fee and a 100,000 PKR semester fee. The university may revise these amounts, so confirm the current figures on the postgraduate admissions page before paying.
Students from other cities can apply for hostel accommodation. Hostel charges are separate from tuition and are revised each year. The university publishes its revised NUTECH hostel charges for 2026-27 on the admissions page. Check them early so you can add accommodation to your total budget.
The NUTECH scholarship programme rewards academic performance, so a strong entry test score can reduce your costs.
Undergraduate talent scholarship: The top three candidates in each series of NUTECH entry tests are eligible for a tuition fee waiver in the first semester. The first-position candidate receives a 100% tuition waiver. The waiver covers tuition only, not other charges.
MS talent scholarship: The top three positions on the MS merit list can receive a 100% semester fee waiver for the first semester. They must hold a CGPA of 3.25/4 or above in the relevant BS degree. Gold medalists from HEC-recognised universities are also eligible.
Later semesters: Students can pursue further scholarships from the second semester onwards, under the university’s talent scholarship policy.
Scholarship rules can change, so read the official policy before you apply.
The NUTECH fee refund policy is tiered. The earlier you withdraw, the more you get back. The refund levels are 100%, 80%, 60% and 50%, each less the registration and admission processing fees as set out in the official policy. After the final period, no refund is made, apart from the security deposit.
Laboratory fees are treated separately. They are refundable in full, minus the days you used the laboratory facilities. To request a refund, submit the official refund form through the university website.
Plan for the full degree. Calculate the total over all semesters instead of looking only at the first payment.
Prepare for the entry test. A high score can lead to a scholarship and lower your first-semester costs.
Pay on time. Late payments can cause problems with enrolment and exams.
Check for updates. All fees are subject to revision by the university authority.
