School of Nursing was established at Liaquat National Hospital in 1981. Initially, School of Nursing started 3 years Diploma in General Nursing program for male nurses and got the recognition from Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC) in 1981 for 100 seats. In 1982, Diploma in Pupil Midwifery (18 months program) was started. Another important step in the history of School of Nursing was the establishment of its female wing in September 2002. In September 2004, Evening School of Nursing for both male and female students was started. In 2005, one year Nurse Midwifery Training program was introduced.

Liaquat National Hospital & Medical College is providing a wide range of courses in different disciplines at undergraduate and postgraduate level focusing mainly on medical sciences. At the undergraduate level, it maintains the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), a flagship program intended to train students for careers in clinical medicine. Besides MBBS, it covers allied health sciences like nursing, physiotherapy, medical laboratory technology. The college also offers advanced training for postgraduate students in disciplines such as surgery, pediatrics, and internal medicine with diploma programs and fellowship opportunities.
