Islamabad College of Management & Design

To begin with, the college started as a study center of the Newport University, Newport Beach, California, USA, and was named as Newport College Islamabad. It rendered useful services to the private sector establishments for about 8 years by offering futuristic skill oriented professional degree, diploma, and certificate programs in the areas of relevance such as Art & Design; Information Technology; and Business Administration. 

With the transformation of UGC to HEC, and a change in the government higher education policy, the college management in line with the new environment, also renamed the college as Islamabad College of Management and Design (ICMD) and sorted affiliation with Hazara University, which is a high ranking public sector university, duly chartered in 2001 by the then Government of NWFP renamed Khyber Pakhtoon Khwa (KPK). During the relatively short period of its existence, the college had earned the reputation of a respectable seat of learning, and therefore in 2007, the ICMD affiliation to Hazara University was readily granted. 

Since the cost of overall education in general and a high ranking degree level education in particular is very high in the Federal Capital, Islamabad, the contention of ICMD management is “to impart professional quality education of worldwide recognition at an affordable cost” In the present highly competitive socio-economic environment, only those individuals are likely to excel, who are equipped with the right type of degree level professional education aimed at career initiation and advancement. The highly educated and professionally competent management of ICMD, therefore, addresses the future challenges and hires the most qualified, competent and experienced faculty as well as conscientious, dedicated and hardworking supporting staff.
