International Islamic University IIU Islamabad Courses
The university is authorized to award undergraduate, post-graduate, and doctoral studies programs in natural science, social science, technology, engineering, arts, humanities, religious studies.
There are several full-fledge faculties and institutes functional under the umbrella of Islamic International University. Here are some of them:
1. The distinctive Faculty of Arabic Language and Islamic Civilizations offers various courses and programs that are in context of Arabic language & Literature, Islamic history, Islamic values and Islamic education.
2. The Faculty of Basic and Applied Science was formed in 2003 with the primary aim of study and research in various fields of Natural and applied Sciences. The Faculty has many notable departments like Biology, Bioinformatics, Physics, Environment Science, Computer Science and Mathematics.
3. The Faculty of Engineering & Technology is a very dynamic and well-developed faculty that offers cutting-edge instructions and sophisticated researches in engineering education The courses offered by this faculty are a perfect blend of theory and practical work.
The Faculty of Language is also one of the most eminent faculties of IIU. The Faculty comprises of various departments such as English, Persian, and Urdu that deliver top notch education.HEC approved and recognized BS, MS and Ph.D. degrees are offered by this faculty.
The faculty of Management Sciences is one of the oldest faculties of IIU that was established in 1995.It includes various departments like Department of Business Administration, and Department of Technology Management. It is not only the oldest but also the largest faculty as it enrolls around 3700 students. Hence the degrees offered by this faculty are highly sought.
The Faculty of Sharia and Law was originally established as a part of the Quaid-e-Azam University. However later it was included in the IIU. The doctorate program of this faculty requires at least of one year of course work before the start of the thesis.
There are two terms/semesters in one Academic year of the Islamic University. Each term consists of a four month duration.
The first term commences in August and ends by December. There is no long break between the semesters. The second term begins in January and ends by the month of June. After the second semester, there is a long summer break till the university re-opens in August.
