Undergraduate admissions for the year 2025 has officially been opened by the institute of engineering & technology Lahore. The institute provides a wide variety of programs, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Software Engineering, computer science or business technology programs. Admissions are being handled online through the centralized admission portal owned by UET. A part of process is that candidates are to register for the compulsory Combined Entry Test (ECAT) which is mandatory for all engineering courses at Punjab. The deadline for the registration for the 2025 session has been extended to March 4, 2025 and written test will be held on between March 17 and March 21, 2025.
Admission Process
There are a number of set phases for the admission process in Institute of Engineering & Technology Lahore. First, the applicants have to register into the official UET admission portal and get their ECAT registered. After registration, candidates should sit in the ECAT on their said dates. After exam results are compiled and merit list is published online describing the students chosen for different disciplines on the basis of aggregate marks. The applicants are advised to match their selected disciplines with their academic background and ECAT subject combination because only the combination that is eligible will be used. The process is digital-based, a transparent process that is available.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be considered for admission, applicants should have passed their Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) or comparable examination with not less than the 60% marks. For a Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) holder, a student has to achieve minimum 50% marks. Participation in the ECAT is mandatory and the results of the exam affect considerably the merit standing. In addition, the candidates must meet residency requirements and must be medically fit. Only those with non-recognized subject combinations can only apply for non-engineering programs such as BBA or BBIT.
