GVTI (W) Shadbag Lahore

The Government Vocational Training Institute for Women (GVTI), located in Shadbagh, Lahore, has been serving as a government institute since 1986, helping women achieve empowerment through vocational training. It is under the management of the Punjab Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), and is established to enhance women economic autonomy and employability.The institute is committed to skill acquisition and practical training, which addresses the needs of the host country's job market and enables competence and confidence development among its female students.

Programs Offered

GVTIW Shadbagh provides a range of vocational training courses that are designed to prepare women with employable skills. The main courses are Certificates in Beautician, Computer Applications, and Tailoring, and a Diploma in Fashion Design. The courses are industry standard and prepare the graduates to enter the workforce or become entrepreneurs. The institute also offers short courses of various skill levels and interests for women, enabling them to acquire practical skills in short time in fields that are required. This course trains in both conventional trades and new vocational fields suitable for women empowerment.

Facilities & Activities

The institute is provided with five classrooms and separate workshops to conduct practical vocational training. Students enjoy basic facilities like electricity, back-up UPS power, internet connection, and potable drinking water. Although GVTIW Shadbagh does not have hostel or canteen services, it makes up for a friendly learning atmosphere and active co-curricular activities that enhance personality development. Computer access can also be used to improve digital literacy among the students, which is an important skill in current job markets. The facilities would help students achieve not only mastery of technical knowledge but also courage and discipline, which are a prerequisite for great careers.
