GVTI (W) Lahore Cantt

Govt Vocational Training Institute (W) Lahore Cantt is a government institution committed to imparting skill based education to women. Located at 34-A Old Officers Colony, Zarar Shaheed Road, Lahore, it is open in the morning shift and offers instruction predominantly in Urdu. It is affiliated with the Punjab Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) and aims to Point women with practical skills in order to improve their employability. The center is designed to address the minimum educational and technical requirements of students, with the ultimate aim of empowering women to be productive members of the workforce and independent individuals in society.

Programs Offered

The institute has a number of vocational education courses aimed at women to gain useful and job related skills. Some of the main courses which they hold include a Certificate in Beautician course which focuses on looking good and skin care, a Certificate in Computer Application which is about developing basic IT skills, a Diploma in Fashion Design which involves making clothes and principles of design, and a Certificate in Tailoring, which focuses on stitching skills and dressmaking skills. They offer courses which are short to medium term therefore they are accessible and useful for women that want to work, freelance, or become entrepreneurs. Govt Vocational Training Institute (W) Lahore Cantt offers the basic infrastructure to accommodate vocational training in a hands on manner. Classrooms are properly equipped and furnished with standard teaching aids to promote teaching. Though the institute is not equipped with modern facilities such as a library or computer lab, it adopts practical learning through workshops and practical sessions. Besides, co-curricular activities and industry visits are organized to enhance student exposure and link academic learning with industry practices.
