Govt. College of Technology, Bahawalpur started its journey as a Polytechnic Institute in 1962. This public institution then evolved through its other entities such as B-Tech (Pass) and B.Tech (Hons) to become a Technology College in 1992. At present GCT is the leader in Technical Education in Southern Punjab having reputation of catering to the best students in the country. It is located at the heart of Bahawalpur. GCT comprises seven departments of DAE, ?ve departments of B-Tech, Administrative wings, Library, Hostel, Cafeteria, Dispensary, Masjid, Play grounds and housing complex for teachers and other staff. The management spares no effort in providing the state of the art academic and infrastructural facilities in addition to ample guidance for career development programs for the students so that they may prepare themselves to excel in academic and professional challenges ahead.

The education system in GCT is motivated to bring up young Associate Engineers as noble citizens of this divine land. We believe that knowledge of Engineering, English, Economics and Ethics will build the right kind of chemistry to make a student duly quali?ed to get a job of his choice.
