Education, no doubt, plays a vital role in the progress and prosperity of a nation. Unfortunately, being a developing country, like any other fields of social life in education too we lag far behind the developed countries of the world. The existing traditional educational system of our country is not in conformity with the national interest and aspirations. Unless we develop our human resources first, we can not hope to attain our proper place in the comity of nations, especially, in today' s globalized world. We will have to provide our young generation with favourable environment where they may have an opportunity to flourish their capabilities. Even then they can become useful citizens of the society. The dream of progress and prosperity, which is expected to be materialized through getting scientific, technological and purposeful mass education.
