Foundation University Islamabad (FUI) got its charter by the Federal Government in 2002 and it is the project of Fauji Foundation. The university is working to develop the research culture in the country. The university has three constituent colleges, Foundation University Institute of Engineering and Management Sciences (FUIEMS), Foundation University Medical College (FUMC) and Foundation University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (FUCLAS).
