Faisalabad Medical University History

The university was first established as a Punjab medical college in 1973 and by the act performed by the government of Punjab in 2017 according to which the college extended to the status of university and currently it is existing as a Faisalabad medical university. Professor Doctor Zafar Ali Choudry is the current vice-chancellor of the university. There are approximately 2000 students who have completed their undergraduate programs from this university.

The university is affiliated with the University of Health Science, UHS Lahore, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PMDC.

Services and Structure of Faisalabad Medical University

The university is completed with a 158-acre (0.64 km2) campus which is located on Sargodha Road. The university is constructed with a huge and new campus with its different and separate departments. Moreover, the university also offered separate hostels for male and female candidates. Students can find completely furnished and well-equipped rooms with all the other basic facilities. There are student halls are also located where students can find mess, common rooms, and common gymnasium. There is also a small library with a capacity of 20 students is located inside the campus and a big study room is also constructed where almost 100 students can easily sit and study. Moreover, with at least 29 advanced computers a computer labs is also arranged for students.

Co-Curricular Activities in Faisalabad Medical University

The university also believes in the co-curricular activities for students. The aim behind the arrangements of co-curricular activities is to offer students a fresh and tension free environment to make them mentally healthy and physically too. Table tennis, hockey, cricket, squash, etc. are the common games arranged on a regular basis. There are some other sports activities or festivals including Teachers vs. students cricket match and Annual Sports Day are held by the university.
