The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan was established in mid-1962. The main objective of this institution is to maintain high principles of medical departments like promotion of medical professionals as well as the medical training institutes.The college has strong democratic traditions regarding various events and student council activities. All the administrative affairs of this college are independent and the members of student council are promoting all the medical related activities.Various seminars and workshops have been organized in College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan to make the students updated. The advance medical science and research technology are the main objectives of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan.
Programs Offered
The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) provides postgraduate training in various medical specialties. College of Physicians and Surgeons Fellowship (FCPS) is offered in 88 specialties ranging from either 4 to 5 years of training. College of Physicians and Surgeons Membership (MCPS) is offered in 22 specialties and typically takes 2 years. CPSP offers Membership programs in Health Professions Education (HPE) and Healthcare Systems Management (HCSM) aimed at developing competence in medical education and healthcare management.
Facilities & Activities
CPSP Lahore is equipped with the most modern facilities to ensure postgraduate medical education is delivered effectively. It runs several workshops and programmes such as Basic Surgical Skills, Research Methodology and Advanced Life Support courses. These courses are compulsory for trainees and are required before exams. CPSP also offers accredited Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). It is the first school outside of North America and Europe to achieve this recognition.
