Chitral Model College was established in 2001 and later upgraded to degree level 2005. Before shifting it to its own new building in 2008, it had been functioning in different rented buildings at polo ground for eight years. In 2009 B.Ed classes were started in the college while M.Ed programme was introduced in 2010. The college has got the sole privilege and pride to be the first ever private college in chitral and since then serving as the mother institution in the field of education in Chitral.
