Academic Session 2027-28

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

  • Unmarried male citizen of Pakistan.
  • Age not more than 20 years as on 31 December 2026.
  • Age limit for Candidates from FATA/ Gilgit Baltistan/ AJK/ Balochistan not more than 21 years as on 31 December 2026 (One Year Age Relaxation).

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION

  • The candidates must have passed F.Sc Pre Engineering or A Level with Subject combination (Maths, Physics & Chemistry) and at least scored 55% marks.
  • Candidates of O/A Level must submit Equivalency Certificate (Separate certificate for “O” Level and “A” Level) along with Application.
  • F.Sc/ A Level Part-II appearing candidates with at least 60% marks in Part-I can also apply. However, they have to provide Hope Certificate from the head of respective college/institute.
  • If a candidate fails to attain 55% marks in F.Sc after providing Hope Certificate he will be disqualified at any stage of selection process and will be discharged during training.
  • If an A level candidate fails to submit Equivalency Certificate in stipulated time/ due date he will not be considered for further stages of selection process.

HOW TO REGISTER

  • Prospectus & application form can be downloaded from PMA Website www.pakistanmarineacademy.edu.pk. The same is also available at PMA Admission Office.
  • Submit application form through Courier Services along with pay order/ bank draft of Rs. 4,000/- in favour of Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), PMA Branch Code-0239 (PO/DD from any bank is acceptable).

SELECTION PROCEDURE

  • Entrance Test will be conducted at Abbottabad, Gwadar Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Muzaffarabad (AJK), Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad, Sukkur through hired Testing Agency.
  • The provisional selection procedure is based on following 4 stages:
    a. Entrance test
    b. Medical fitness from designated hospital
    c. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
    d. Interview
  • It is mandatory for a candidate to must qualify each stage of selection procedure.
  • If a candidate fails at any of the above mentioned 4 stages will be considered disqualified and will not be considered for next stage/ admission.
  • Upon successfully qualifying all 4 stages a candidate will be considered for provisional admission subject to availability of seats. Minimum 50% marks are required to qualify entrance test.
  • Medical examination of Entrance Test Qualified candidates will be conducted at designated Hospitals
  • PET will be conducted after Medical Examination/ fitness.
  • Only PET qualified candidates will be considered for interview. Provisional selection will be done in order of merit which includes F.Sc/ A Level percentage, Entrance Test Marks/ percentage, Medical Fitness, standard obtained in Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and interview.

  • Interview and PET dates will be updated on PMA website and same will also be communicated to candidates through SMS.
  • Only those candidates declared qualified for provisional admission will be issued joining letters.
  • After joining PMA all candidates will appear before MMD for eye vision and colour perception test.
  • The admission will only be confirmed upon qualifying the MMD Eye Vision and Colour Perception Tests.
  • MMD Failures will be returned to home and their provisional admission will stand cancel.

BRANCH ALLOCATION

  • Generally, branches are allocated according to the choice of individual subject to MMD recommendations and availability of seats.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • 02 Years residential training will be conducted at PMA.
  • Upon completion of training award of Associate Degree in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering by NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi.
  • Certificates of International Maritime Organization (IMO) recognized Pre-Sea Mandatory Courses.

INELIGIBILITY

  • Submitting tampered academic certificates/ marks sheets/ documents.
  • Concealment of information in the application form or submitting incomplete application or providing false information.
  • Withdrawn from any academy/ training institution including that of Armed Forces on disciplinary grounds or on weak academic performance.
  • Dismissed/ Removed/ Debarred/ Resigned from Government Service including Armed Forces.
  • Convicted by a court of law for offence involving moral turpitude or any other offence.
  • Non-Combination of Subjects and Diploma holder (DAE) are not eligible.
  • Declared medically unfit by an Armed Forces hospital/ Appeal Medical Board.
  • Candidates Declared COLOUR BLIND
