Programs Offered: Nautical (Deck) and Marine Engineering Cadets.
Gender & Marital Status: Unmarried Male Pakistani citizens.
Age Limit (General): Must not be over 20 years of age as of December 31, 2026.
Age Limit (Relaxed): Must not be over 21 years of age as of December 31, 2026 (1-year relaxation) for candidates belonging to FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), and Balochistan.
F.Sc / A-Level Route: Minimum 55% marks in F.Sc (Pre-Engineering) or A-Level with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Equivalency Requirement: O-Level and A-Level candidates must submit equivalence certificates along with their application form (separate certificates are required for O-Level and A-Level).
Hope Certificate Route: Candidates awaiting A-Level Part-II results who scored at least 60% marks in Part-I can apply. They must provide a Hope Certificate signed by the head of their respective college/institution.
Note: If a candidate fails to secure 55% marks in F.Sc after submitting a Hope Certificate, they will be disqualified at any stage. If an A-Level candidate fails to submit the equivalence certificate by the final deadline, they will not be considered for further selection stages.
The provisional selection procedure consists of four mandatory phases. A candidate must pass every single stage to remain eligible:
Phase A: NTS Entry Test (Minimum 50% marks required to qualify).
Phase B: Medical Fitness Examination (Conducted at designated Army or Navy hospitals for NTS-qualified candidates).
Phase C: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) (Conducted after clearing the medical exam).
Phase D: Interview (Only candidates who pass the PET will be shortlisted for the interview).

Provisional selection will be strictly merit-based, calculating:
F.Sc / A-Level percentage.
Entry Test marks/percentage.
Medical fitness status.
PET performance standards.
Interview evaluation.
Upon joining PMA, all provisionally selected candidates must appear before the Mercantile Marine Department (MMD) for an Eyesight and Color Perception Test.
Final admission approval is completely subject to passing the MMD vision test.
Candidates who fail the MMD test will be sent back home immediately, and their provisional admission will be considered cancelled.
Branch allocation is generally done according to the candidate's preference, but it remains subject to MMD recommendations and seat availability.

Training Type: 2-year residential training program at the Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi.
Degree: An Associate Degree in Nautical Science or Marine Engineering will be awarded by the NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi upon successful completion.
Certifications: Mandatory pre-sea course certifications approved by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Candidates will be permanently disqualified if found matching any of the following:
Tampering with academic certificates, mark sheets, or official documents.
Concealing information, submitting incomplete forms, or providing false information.
Dismissal or discharge from any academy or training institution (including the Armed Forces) due to disciplinary issues or poor academic performance.
Dismissal, removal, disqualification, or forced resignation from government service (including the Armed Forces).
Conviction by a court of law for any moral turpitude or criminal offense.
Opting for irrelevant subjects. Diploma Holders (DAE) are not eligible to apply.
Declared medically unfit by any military hospital or central medical board.
Being Color Blind (inability to distinguish colors).

Send the completed application form via courier along with a Pay Order / Bank Draft of Rs. 4,000/- drawn in favor of the Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi.
Bank Details: Payable at National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), PMA Branch (Branch Code: 0239). However, a pay order/demand draft from any commercial bank is acceptable.
Last Date for Form Submission: July 23, 2026
NTS Entry Test Date: August 9, 2026 (Sunday)
Test Centers: Abbottabad, Gwadar, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Muzaffarabad (AJK), Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Sukkur.
Note: Interview and PET dates will be updated on the PMA website, and candidates will be notified via SMS. Joining letters will only be issued to those cleared for provisional admission.
