Program Overview
The University of the Punjab, Lahore has announced a mandatory Admission Test for students seeking admission into undergraduate programs for the academic year 2026-27.
All applicants must appear in the PU Admission Test as it is a compulsory requirement for admission consideration.
Test Date
- Tentative Date: 14 June 2026 (Sunday)
Eligibility Criteria
Students who can apply for the Admission Test include:
- Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent (Grade 12)
- Students who have appeared in final HSSC exams and are awaiting results
Admission Test Categories
The PU Admission Test is divided into seven (7) categories based on academic streams:
1. Pre-Engineering
2. Pre-Medical
3. Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences
4. ICS (Physics Combination)
5. ICS (Statistics Combination)
6. General Science
7. Commerce
Importance of Admission Test
- The Admission Test carries 25% weightage in total merit calculation
- It is mandatory for applying to undergraduate programs
- Previous year test results are not valid for new admissions

Online Registration
Applicants must register online at:

Application Steps:
- Register on the portal
- Download fee challan
- Pay test fee at HBL / UBL or via mobile banking (1 Bill)
- Upload payment proof to complete registration
Application Fee
- Fee: PKR 2500
- Non-refundable and non-transferable
Special Program Requirements
Engineering Programs
Admission test is mandatory for engineering disciplines, including:
- Chemical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Energy Engineering
- Metallurgy & Materials Engineering
- Industrial Engineering & Management
Acceptable tests:
- PU Admission Test OR
- E-CAT (UET) OR
- NUST Entry Test
LLB Programs
- Both LAT Test + PU Admission Test are mandatory
College of Art & Design
- PU Admission Test is required
- Separate Drawing/Aptitude Test will also be conducted
Pharm-D Program
- Either MDCAT OR PU Admission Test is valid
Registration Deadline
- Last Date for Online Registration: 25 May 2026

- Incomplete applications will not be accepted
