University of Peshawar Subject List for BA Private Candidates

Peshawar University offers Bachelors in Arts (BA) in separate parts like BA Part 1 and BA Part 2 for the duration of two years and exams are held at the end of each Year. Candidates have to choose two elective subjects and one optional subject. Candidates have to pass the Compulsory subject of Islamic Studies/Ethics and Pakistan Studies separately in the University Examinations.
List of compulsory, elective and optional subjects is given below.
  • Compulsory Subjects:
    1. English Language (200 marks)
    2. Islamiyat/ Ethics (60 marks)
    3. Pakistan Studies (40 marks)
     
    Elective Subjects:(200 marks each, Choose 2 subjects)
    1. Fine Arts
    2. Sociology
    3. Social Work
    4. Political Science
    5. Home Economics
    6. Library Sciences
    7. Journalism
    8. Arabic
    9. Persian
    10. Pashto
    11. Islamic Studies
    12. Health & Physical Education
    13. International Relations
    14. Psychology
    15. History
    16. Education
    17. Geography
    18. Urdu
    19. English Literature
     
    Optional Subjects (100 marks, choose 1 subject)
    1. Fine Arts
    2. Sociology
    3. Social Work
    4. Political Science
    5. Home Economics
    6. Library Sciences
    7. Journalism
    8. Pashto
    9. Arabic
    10. Persian
    11. Islamic Studies
    12. Health & Physical Education
    13. Psychology
    14. History

    16. Geography
    17. Urdu
     
    No candidate shall be permitted to get optional subject, which he has taken as elective subject.
