UET Lahore begins PhD admissions 2014

Lahore, University of Engineering and Technology UET Lahore has started PhD Admissions 2014. Last date to submit application form is May 05, 2014.

The University invites applications for admission in full time PhD programs as per admission criteria given by Higher Education Commission (HEC) on its website http://www.hec.gov.pk.

The admissions are open in various disciplines by Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Faculty of Earth Sciences and Engineering, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Humanities and Islamic Studies.
Candidates are eligible if they have done Msc/ MPhil or equivalent degree in the relevant discipline in first division or with a CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (in case, applicant’s transcript shows percentage as well as CGPA, CGPA would be considered for eligibility. CGPAs on a scale other than 4.0 would be translated accordingly). Candidates should meet HEC’s admission test criterion.

The application for admission will be filled online, available from April 07 by logging on to http://admission.uet.edu.pk. The printout of the filled application form with the paid bank challan and required documents will be submitted to the respective department till May 05, 2014 during working days. Incomplete applications will not be entertained.

University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore was established in 1921 as the ‘Mughalpura Technical College’. Later it was given the name of ‘Maclagan Engineering College’, in 1923 when Sir Edwards Maclagan, the then Governor of the Punjab who laid the foundation stone of the main building, now called the Main Block, which still retains its majesty despite the wear and tear of over eight decades. At that stage the institution offered courses of study in only two disciplines; Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. In 1961, it was upgraded into the “West Pakistan University of Engineering and Technology”.
