Karachi: The aspirants with hearing, verbal impairments take first final exam under Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Karachi (BIEK). Out of total 102 physically-challenged aspirants registered for 9th class annual exams, 98 were present for their first paper on Tuesday at Government Pilot Girls Higher Secondary School in Nazimabad, which is the only centre for the special students in Karachi.


Total 98 special students were appeared in their first 9th class annual exams 2016 under BISE Karachi Board.  


At least 216 hearing and speech impaired students are expected to appear in the annual exams, under the supervision Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BIEK), of 9th and 10th class this year.

Chairperson of Karachi Board, Anwar Ahmed Zia while talking to media said, “Annually, almost 200 students are registered for the examinations and the board always tries to facilitate them in terms of arrangements”. These exams will end on May 20th, 2016.

One of the students through sign language told media “The paper was easy and was started on time and I am happy that I appeared in the exam”. Another student smiled and indicated the thumbs up sign when she was asked how her paper went.
