PU, PINA to organize Balochistan National Conference today

Lahore, Punjab University in collaboration with Pakistan Institute of National Affairs (PINA) is conducting a two-day Balochistan National Conference. The moot will start on Wednesday January 2, 2013 (today) at 5:30pm at Al Raazi Hall of Undergraduate Study Centre.

Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran will chair the inaugural session while former Prime Minister Mir Zafar ullah Khan Jamali will be the chief guest on this occasion. PINA General Secretary Altaf Hasan Qureshi, Ch Muhammad Akram, Mir Mohabbat Khan Murree, Senator Rubina Irfan, Lt Gen (r) Abdul Qadir Baloch, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, Abdul Khaliq Hazara, Prof Dr Hasan Askari Rizvi, Yasin Azad, Liaqat Baloch, Anwar Sajidi Editor Intikhab Quetta, Ahsan Iqbal and Shah Mahmood Qureshi will also address at the conference.

The concluding session of the conference will be held on Thursday in which renowned political and social personalities will participate.

Meanwhile, Punjab University has announced that university will remain closed on Thursday 3rd January, 2013 because of Annual Urs of Hazrat Ali Hajvery Al Maroof Hazrat Data Gunj Bux (R.A).

The University of the Punjab was established in 1882 which is the largest and the oldest seat of higher learning in Pakistan. This was the first university established in the sub-continent in Muslim majority area. Two eminent laureates are from this University showed great significance for its academic and research excellence.
