Lahore, Punjab University Department of Electrical Engineering’s students have clinched all the three positions in All Pakistan Project Exhibition (APPE) contests. The contest was organized at Jinnah Convention Centre Islamabad.

Mohsin-e-Pakistan Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan distributed prizes among winners. The team including Muhammad Tayyab, Zafar Ali, Muhammad Imran and Faisal Shahzad got first place by getting cash prize of Rs 40,000 for their project “Blimp Based Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for Surveillance”.

Second position was taken by Kashif Sohail, Zeeshan Arshad, Baber Hassan and Ahsan Jahangir with cash prize of Rs 25,000 for their project “Hybrid Energy System” while the third position was taken by Muhammad Azeem Javed, Mahzaib Jamil and Abdul Basit with cash prize of Rs 15, 000 for their project “Mobility Assistive Intelligent Hybrid Automobile for Impaired People”.

Assistant Prof Umer Farooq directed the students in this contest. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran praised the College Principal Prof Dr Rafiq Ahmed, Assistant Prof Umer Farooq for their efforts and also acclaimed the students on their great accomplishment and advised them to work hard.

Meanwhile, Revised written, practical and viva voce examination date sheet for the M.Ed (Visual Impairment) 2nd annual 2011, (session 2010-11) and annual 2012 (session 2011-12) which will conducted in January/February 2013, has been issued by Punjab University Examinations Department.
