PMDC to suspend enrollment of lecturers of unrecognized colleges

Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) have now decided that it will suspend the enrollment of the teachers of unrecognized medical as well as dental colleges and those suggested for closing.

 The authorities of PMDC also alleged such faculty members would not be specified any teaching experience for the said period. The decision has been taken during the 139th council meeting in consideration of the National Health Services and also Regulations Ministry’s failure to recognize the medical and dental colleges suggested by the PMDC for termination over poor teaching facilities or staff.

 As per the insider, PMDC has sent a lot of reminders to ministry for the purpose over a period of time, but all in vain.

 Between the educational institutes  enduring to perform either without acquiring the required PMDC recognition certificate or in spite of the PMDC recommendation for closure are Al-Razi Medical College, Peshawar, (suggested for shutting); Hashmat Medical College, Gujrat, (suggested for shutting); Pakistan Red Crescent Medical College, Lahore, (suggested for shutting); Sahiwal Medical College, Sahiwal, (suggested for shutting); Dera Ghazi Khan Medical College, Dera Ghazi Khan, (unrecognized and suggested for shutting), and Dental Section of Bacha Khan Medical College, Mardan, (unrecognized).

 The PMDC has also decided to deliberate the regulation of the aspirants of such colleges in recognised educational institutes. Lately, the PMDC has transferred the aspirants of Hashmat Medical College in other college on the orders of court.

 In this meeting of PMDC there were also some famous personalities were present involving PMDC President Professor Masood Ahmad Khan, Vice President Professor Syed Muhammad Awais, Dr Saeed Mangneoo, Mushtaq Jadoon, Noorul Haq Baluch, Professor Azam H Yousafani, Professor Muhammad Hafizullah, Dr Asim Hussain, Professor Ghulam Qadir Kazi, Professor Shaheed Iqbal, Professor Moghees A. Baig, Professor Taj Muhammad Khan, Professor Farooq Saeed Khan, Dr Khurshid A Nasim, Dr. Marghub Khan, Dr. Muslim Khan, Professor Saadat Khan, Professor Rashid Mian, Professor Umar Ali Khan, Professor Syed Mehmood Haider, Professor Ziaul Haq, Professor Abdul Salam, Professor Zafarullah Chaudhry, Professor Major General Muhammad Aslam, Professor Nushad A. Sheikh, Professor Farhat Abbas and director general of the National Health Services as well as the Coordination Ministry Dr Asad Hafeez.
