National Education Foundation (NEF) has proclaimed the scholarships for the academic year 2015 to facilitate the children of in service retired as well as defunct federal government teachers.

Hundreds of teachers their children as well as the aspirants who are eligible for the scholarships have rushed to NEF office to submit their applications.

According to the eligibility criteria the scholarship could just be attained by one children of serving federal government teachers and two children of retired as well as of the deceased teachers.

 A child of federal teacher who have at least 60% marks is eligible to apply for this scholarship. Talking to APP NEF s Assistant Director (Accounts) Sonia Aslam claimed that approximately Rs 5 million funds have been used for the scholarships last year.

She moreover said that expenditures of scholarship for the academic year 2015 will be concluded after selection of total eligible aspirants. Sonia Aslam guaranteed that the final list of successful aspirants will be made completely on basis of their merit.

Emphasizing on the objectives of the initiative she also said that the main objectives involve the promoting quality as well as the gender sensitive education in regions of Federally Administered Areas. This would assist promote public private partnerships in achieving the basic education for all through multiple delivery systems along with the special focus on underprivileged communities and girls.

 Another aim is to promote the welfare activities for teachers as well as for the educationists of Federal Government Institutions involving providing scholarships and also the assistance to the aspirants and teachers.
